The long standing, family orientated firm was founded by Richard John O’Halloran following his admission to practice law in the Supreme Court of NSW on the 21st November 1903. Both Richard’s sons, Harry Paul O’Halloran & John Daniel O’Halloran followed in their father’s footsteps. Sadly, John was killed in action in Germany in 1942 during WWII. Harry continued to practice law in Tamworth until his death. He received a medal from the Law Society of New South Wales for his long standing service to the legal profession which totalled approximately 62 years before his death in 2010.

Harry was Law Society President during his service and represented clients on a regular basis in Moree, Narrabri, Coonabarabran and Gunnedah local courts. He took over the firms branch offices in Moree and Narrabri after his fathers passing and remained an active and passionate advocate for his clients.

The firm continues to flourish with both Harry’s sons, Patrick and Andrew O’Halloran following the family tradition, as 3rd generation principals of the firm. In 2008, R J O’Halloran acquired the firm of Bamford Marcellos O’Connor, following the retirement of the partners, John Bamford & Michael O’Connor, from private practice.

Patrick O’Halloran has followed in his fathers footsteps as the peoples lawyer and is a highly respected practitioner of 34 years service. He is a Centacare Board Member and honorary solicitor of the Tamworth City Bowling Club and Tamworth Tennis Club. Patrick has been involved in a number of high profile cases and commercial matters. Andrew O’Halloran is a NSW Law Society accredited specialist in Personal Injury law, and specialises in acting for injured clients in all compensation claims, including motor vehicle accidents, negligence claims, industrial accidents, slip and fall accidents and work injuries. Andrew is honorary solicitor of Tamworth District Cricket Association.

In 2010 the firm welcomed Douglas John Biffin from Macquarie Bank in Sydney and in 2014 Richard James O’Halloran a 4th Generation practitioner. Richard is specialising in Wills and Estates after recently completing a Masters of Law in the area in London. The collective aim of the firm is to resolve all disputes in a timely and efficient manner. The practitioners of the firm use their expert legal knowledge to identify any future potential problems before they may arise with a view to ensuring minimum disruption and complications to your life.

The firm is actively involved in the local community being major sponsor of Pirates Rugby Club and Tamworth City Cricket Club as well as assisting Billabong Club house a local organisation assisting people with Mental Illness and Centacare.

The firm today practices in all legal areas, specialising in Conveyancing, Family Law & Property Divisions, Wills, Probate, Commercial and Business law, and Court Matters.  The firm was a finalist for the 2017 New England North West Regional Business Awards for Excellence in Small Business.
